Abstract. The Gram-positive bacterium Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis (Smith) causes bacterial wilt and canker of tomato (Lycopersicon esculenturn Mill.). The bacteria infect the host plant via wounds, invade the xylem vessels followed by a systemic infection of the host.

Abstract: Clavibacter michiganensis, subsp. michiganensis is a Gram-positive plant pathogen infecting tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). Despite a considerable economic importance due to significant losses of infected plants and fruits, knowledge about virulence factors of C. michiganensis subsp. michiganensis and host-pathogen interactions
May 01, 1993 · Abstract. Control of bacterial ring rot ultimately depends on the accurate and sensitive detection of C. michiganensis subsp. sepedonicus in infected potato tissues and tubers. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) based detection of C. michiganensis subsp. sepedonicus appears to have the potential to circumvent many of the problems currently associated with detection of this phytopathogen. In Planta - Complementation of Clavibacter Michiganensis ... Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. sepedonicus, a Gram positive bacterium that causes bacterial ring rot of potato, was studied in eggplant, an alternate host, using strains that differed in phenotype. Mar 15, 2008 · Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. sepedonicus is a plant-pathogenic bacterium and the causative agent of bacterial ring rot, a devastating agricultural disease under strict quarantine control and zero tolerance in the seed potato industry. This organism appears to be largely restricted to an endophytic lifestyle, proliferating within plant tissues and unable to persist in the absence of plant The Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis–Tomato ... The Gram-positive bacterium Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis (Cmm) causes wilt and canker disease of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). Mechanisms of Cmm pathogenicity and tomato response to Cmm infection are not well understood.
